Derbyshire County Championships 2012 The Derbyshire County Champinoships are fast approaching. It is one of the most important events on Buxton Swimming Club's competition calendar so we would like as much support as possible representing the club.
The competition is held over three weekends in March.
Sat/Sun 3rd/4th at Matlock, Sat/Sun 10th/11th at Chesterfield, Sat 17th at Derby
The last day (Sat 17th Derby) is Relay day so please also mark your availability because we want to enter as many relay teams as possible.

Buxton hits a Century Buxton Swimming Club has recently reached the landmark of 100 children learning to swim in lessons. Since returning to Buxton pool the applications for places have gone through the roof, and the figure is still increasing. A big thanks to all the swimmers and also a massive thanks to all the volunteer teachers and coaches as this wouldn't have happened without you! Belper Marlins Open Meet In the first competition since returning to Buxton Pool we had an excellent start to the competitive season. Buxton came 5th out of 12 overall, picking up 15 medals and trophies. Harri Bowen and Kara Cocker came 4th and 9th in their age-groups, respectively. A special mention goes to new members Liam and Libby who swam their first gala for us. Libby making plenty of PB's and Liam picking up a gold medal for 100 Fly. A big thank you and well done to everyone there on the day!
Derventio eXcel Short Course Open Meet We had 9 swimmers representing BSC on Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd October including BSC's Senior Coach, Mike Glossop. A total of 23 PB's were achieved which was very good to say how early on in the season this competition was. The coaching team were very impressed with the high level of technique and skills on show as well as a positive attitude. Well Done everyone! Our first session back at our home pool will be Tuesday 2nd August. Retford Open Meet - Results We had 22 swimmers representing BSC on Sunday, a total of 70 PB's were achieved from 103 swims! Well done! It was a great day and our new banner was proudly unveiled as well. Thanks must go to Verity, Katy and Nicola for being team managers on poolside.
