ANTI BULLYING POLICY

Our mission statement highlights the need for positive peer and pupil/coach relationships.

Definition Bullying is anything said or done, over a period of time, which causes distress and fear of repetition. This can be in the form of verbal, psychological or physical assault.

Objectives All children will be aware of the abhorrence of bullying at their school. The Swimming Club aims to offer awareness and willingness to deal with any situation as it arises.

Identification Children should be encouraged to raise any problems with coaching staff or committee members.

Action

•  Coaching staff will speak with all the pupils involved, with a follow up chat to establish that the problem is resolved.

2 If bullying continues, the matter will be referred to the Head Coach who may refer the matter to parents. In the most severe of cases, expulsion from the Club may be recommended as the only solution and must have Committee approval.

COMPLAINTS POLICY

Definition A complaint is any matter in the gift of the club, which cannot be resolved by normal enquiry.

Objectives The Committee hopes to elicit a culture that seeks development by discussion and suggestion. Occasionally, someone may feel affronted by an action or situation, which they feel, needs wider consideration. They have a right, as a club member, to test those views.
